Edward “Ed” Sawyer

Chief Financial Officer, Co-founder

Ed Sawyer is a finance and operations executive with more than 25 years of leadership experience spanning technology, SaaS, life sciences, and emerging industries. Equal parts strategic thinker and operational powerhouse, Ed has built a career helping organizations scale smartly, run efficiently, and navigate rapid growth without losing sight of the bigger picture.

Over the course of his career, Ed has led large teams, managed budgets approaching $800 million, and developed deep expertise in financial strategy, governance, operational excellence, M&A, and organizational development. He has earned a reputation as the steady hand in the room—the person who can take big ideas, pressure-test them, operationalize them, and actually make them work.

Most recently, Ed served in executive leadership roles at National Car Charging (NCC), helping guide the company’s growth and long-term strategic development within the rapidly evolving EV infrastructure industry. Known for balancing discipline with practicality (and occasionally being the adult in the room), Ed brings a grounded, solutions-oriented perspective to fast-moving industries and ambitious ideas.

At Charge Oasis, Ed combines his expertise in scalable operations, financial strategy, and business growth to help build charging destinations that are not only financially sustainable, but operationally exceptional and built to last. He believes the future of EV charging belongs to organizations that can successfully blend smart infrastructure, strong partnerships, operational rigor, and customer experiences people actually remember.

James “Jim” Burness

Chief Executive Officer, Co-founder

Jim Burness is an entrepreneur, strategist, and nationally recognized leader in the EV infrastructure industry with a career built at the intersection of mobility, consumer behavior, innovation, and growth. Before entering the EV charging sector, he held leadership roles with organizations including American Honda, J.D. Power and Associates, and AAA, developing deep expertise in automotive trends, customer experience, franchise operations, and market development.

In 2011, after recognizing the transformational potential of electric vehicles, Jim founded National Car Charging (NCC), helping grow the company into one of the nation’s leading EV infrastructure providers supporting projects across 48 states. Known throughout the industry for his expansive network, strategic vision, and ability to connect people and ideas, Jim has played a key role in advancing EV adoption through strategic partnerships, cooperative purchasing expertise, and a strong focus on long-term infrastructure performance.

At Charge Oasis, Jim brings together decades of experience in transportation, infrastructure, hospitality, and scalable growth strategy to help reimagine the EV charging experience. He believes the future of charging is not just about power—it’s about creating destinations that are thoughtful, welcoming, reliable, and designed around how people actually move and connect.

Andrew “Andy” Swartz

Chief Architect & Design Officer

Andy Swartz is an architect, designer, and creative visionary whose work is fueled by a deep passion for thoughtful design, craftsmanship, and the power of spaces to shape how people feel, move, and connect. With decades of experience leading complex architectural projects, Andy is known for blending technical precision with bold creativity—bringing an artist’s eye, a builder’s mindset, and an unwavering attention to detail to everything he touches.

As a principal and longtime leader at Blumentals/Architecture, Andy has helped shape the firm’s strategic direction and design philosophy while leading a diverse range of projects spanning industrial facilities, retreat centers, community spaces, and highly customized environments. His ability to balance aesthetics, functionality, and human experience has made him a trusted leader on projects that demand both vision and execution.

Originally trained as an artist before earning his Master of Architecture from the University of Colorado, Andy approaches design with a rare combination of creativity, curiosity, and technical expertise. He is deeply passionate about materials, flow, placemaking, and the details that transform ordinary spaces into memorable experiences people genuinely enjoy being in.

At Charge Oasis, Andy brings together his love of architecture, hospitality, and experience-driven design to help reimagine what EV charging environments can become. He believes charging destinations should be more than functional—they should be beautiful, welcoming, thoughtfully integrated into their surroundings, and designed to make people want to stop, stay, and recharge.

Margaret-Ann “Mal” Leavitt

Chief Brand & Experience Officer

Margaret-Ann Leavitt is a strategic marketing and brand leader whose career has been built at the intersection of innovation, storytelling, consumer behavior, and growth. Known for transforming complex ideas into compelling brands and meaningful customer experiences, she has helped organizations not only grow—but differentiate and lead.

Throughout her career, Margaret-Ann has combined strategic leadership, brand building, and behavioral insight to drive measurable impact across emerging and evolving industries. At SRG, she led the national advertising team for Home Instead Senior Care, a global franchise organization, helping fuel double-digit growth as the company surpassed $1 billion in annual revenue. That experience gave her deep expertise in franchise systems, scalable brand strategy, and localized customer engagement. She later helped architect and launch the Silvernest brand, backed by 500 Global, helping pioneer new possibilities within the sharing economy.

Most recently, Margaret-Ann served as Chief Marketing Officer of National Car Charging (NCC), where she helped shape the company’s national brand strategy, partnerships, and growth within the rapidly evolving EV infrastructure industry.

At Charge Oasis, she brings together her experience in franchise growth, hospitality-minded branding, infrastructure, and experience-driven design to help create EV charging destinations that feel intentional, welcoming, scalable, and community-connected. She believes the future of charging is not just functional—it’s experiential.
